After the main living spaces of their Tiburon home were completely transformed, our clients set their sights on changing the last area of their home that didn't serve them well: their primary bathroom. The previous owners had remodeled the bathroom into a locker room-style space for their four children.
The shower was cramped with a bench just outside the glass for the next kid in line. The massive barn door across from the vanity allowed for easy, open access to the space...which might be great for a busy kids bathroom, but offered zero privacy for a primary bathroom!
Our client wanted to tap into the serene, classic and luxurious feeling of the bathrooms at her favorite hotel in LA. The top wish list items for the space were: a free standing soaking tub, concrete-look tiles, and a mostly neutral palette with some blue.
Removing the barn door and adding a wall in its place gave us the space to add a beautiful soaking tub while also creating privacy. We completely reworked the space to create a larger shower while maintaining a separate water closet.
The custom white oak vanity adds warmth to the bathroom remodel (and much more storage than they had previously).
We went all-in on blue in the water closet with beautiful wallpaper paired with wainscoting painted in a matching hue.
This space has no natural light, and with it's location within the home, there was no opportunity to add natural light either. To bring in nature and create the connection to the outdoors, we sourced this beautiful oak tree print from a local female photographer. The scale and composition of the piece mimics a window and creates a connection to outside.
Our clients now have a beautiful, classic primary bathroom worthy of a luxury hotel yet totally custom to their preferences!
